Tapered fiber femtosecond optical parametric oscillator

Abstract

We use a tapered fiber as nonlinear gain medium in a Ti:Sapphire synch-pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillator. We generate more than 10 mW of radiation between 450 and 500 nm with a gain of more than 1000.
