Abstract
Conception and elaboration of new nonlinear optical materials with optimized properties are crucial prerequisites towards the development and practical use of optical parametric amplificators (OPA's) and oscillators (OPO's) for various signal processing applications in the near-infrared range.1 For this purpose, a new crystal engineering strategy has been proposed and new crystals have been conceived and grown accordingly.2 An organo-mineral crystal based OPO has thus been demonstrated with improved performances and functionality including a considerably decreased oscillation threshold as compared to inorganic OPO's.3-4.
