Abstract
The spontaneous emission of photons is a quantum mechanical effect, in which each photon is emitted at random timing. This may be regarded as an uncertainty of spontaneous emission. However, inhibition of the spontaneous emission in some particular wavelengths has been demonstrated, in a microcavity or some special structures.1 It thus became possible to control the spontaneous emission, and let its rate take the natural value or zero, by modulating the size or the features of the cavity.
