Abstract

In this paper, we review the progress of surface emitting lasers by featuring the materials and performances including ultimate thresholds, power output, efficience and so on. Advanced technology for spontaneous emission control, polarization control etc will be introduced. We discuss 2-D optoelectronics such as parallel optical interconnects toward applications.
