Abstract
In order to realize the next electron-positron linear colliders, the Final Focus Test Beam (FFTB) project has been carried out at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC) under the international collaborations. The project aims to produce the focused electron beam of 60 nanometer vertical by 1 micronmeter horizontal size. In order to measure the spot size in the nanometer range, the new method was proposed by T. Shintake (KEK) and the spot size monitor based on the new method was developed by Kawasaki. The spot size monitor has been installed in FFTB facility at SLAC in summer 1993. In the first beam test during April and May 1994, nanometer spot size was successfully measured by the spot size monitor.
