Abstract

An iron vapor laser oscillation has been obtained on three lines (299.951, 303.164 and 304.043 nm) in an ultraviolet region, and on two lines (532.418 and 562.455 nm) in a visible region. An Fe vapor plasma is produced from an Fe plate by irradiation of a pulsed Nd:YAG laser, and then the vapor plasma is optically pumped by a KrF excimer laser.
