Annular mode of ytterbium-doped fiber laser with radial polarization under bi-directional pumping

Abstract

The oscillation of Yb fiber laser with radial polarization is demonstrated. A converging Brewster axicon is used as the radial-polarization mode selector. So far, 39-mW output power is obtained at 460-mW launched pump power with 13.8% slope efficiency.
