Optical Wireless HDMI with Uncooled Violet-Blue Laser Diode

Abstract

Optical wireless HDMI transceiver using uncooled 12-mW violet laser diode as Tx with f-3dB=4GHz and p-i-n photodiode as Rx with f-3dB=7GHz is demonstrated to enable 26.4-Gbit/s 64-QAM OFDM data and 2K×1K HDMI (1080P@60fps) video transmission.
