Abstract
A side-polished sensor structures were embedded in a fluoride glass fiber for mid-infrared (IR) fiber evanescent wave spectroscopy, produced by means of a mechanical polishing process. Spectroscopic analyses of liquid and gas samples were successfully performed. Qualitative/quantitative measurements were demonstrated for glycerin as a liquid sample and for CH4 as a gas sample.
