Abstract
Knowledge of the mutual coherence of two interfering beams plays a fundamental role in some applications, such as laser ranging and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Severe problems arise, however, when one (or both) of the beams is speckle-like aberrated. One promising possibility to overcome this problem (and to deal with the speckle-like wavefronts) is by means of dynamic holography, and, in particular, by the so-called adaptive photodetectors based on the photo-EMF effect [1].
