Abstract

We consider hybrid planar waveguides which arc constituted of ion-exchanged glass substrates top covered by high index polymer layers. They have been specially designed and fabricated for a highly efficient nonlinear interaction. Without any corrugation, phasematching between the different waves is realized thanks to the use of different guided modes at the different wavelengths. This is called Modal Dispersion Phase Matching (MDPM)1.
