Abstract
A high repetition rate Nd:YVO4 laser with an RTP based electro-optic Q-switch was developed. The repetition rates achieved were up-to 75kHz.
RTP (RTiOPO4) is a relatively new ferroelectric oxide that in addition to superior nonlinear optical properties, such as large nonlinear coefficients, also exhibits excellent electro-optic characteristics. Furthermore, RTP has a low dielectric constant, low optical insertion loss, is non-hygroscopic, and has a high laser damage threshold and high resisivity (1011-1012 Ω-cm).
