Abstract
Interaction between the light and materials are closely related to wavelength of the light, therefore, tunable lasers have been widely used in many applications, for example, medicine, biology, optical measurement systems. Generally, many lasers emit at single frequency, however, a laser medium with broad emission spectrum, such as laser dyes or luminescent glasses, can produce a tunable laser combined with a spectroscopic system, such as, a grating or a prism. We have been developing a W-class new visible solid-state fiber laser, we call this Pr doped waterproof fluoride glass fiber (Pr:WPFGF) laser [1].
