Toroidal Response of Asymmetric Metasurfaces with Multiple High Q-Factor Resonances

Abstract

We report numerical simulations and experimental investigations of a planar asymmetric terahertz metamaterials exhibiting toroidal response. By inducing symmetry breaking, multiple Fano-like resonances arise in 0.1-2.5 THz frequency range with extremely high Q-factor.
