Abstract
We propose an optimization method to recover the 2D source shape for partially coherent phase recovery from intensity images taken through-focus with (Köhler) illumination. The partially coherent intensity images are modeled as a 2D convolution between the coherent intensity images and the scaled source shape. In this paper, we formulate and solve the arbitrary source shape recovery problem as an optimization procedure, discuss the efficiency of the measurements for source retrieval, and demonstrate the method in simulation.
