Abstract

We report for the first time on the application of three-dimensional (3-D) quantitative photoacoustic tomography (qPAT) for detecting osteoarthritis in the finger joints. Apparent differences, in both the reconstructed size and optical absorption coefficient of the joint cavity, are observed between osteoarthritic and normal joints.
