Abstract
A distributed, fiber-coupled sensor network configuration for methane leak detection utilizing chirped laser dispersion spectroscopy is presented. The laser and detector unit is separated from the all-optical sensing nodes making them intrinsically safe for hazardous areas. The two node proof-of-concept experiment demonstrates performance required for the target application.
