Abstract

Single metallic nanowires and nanowire networks are currently under investigation for the intriguing electrical, optical, and physical properties they possess [1].Nanowire networks exhibit interesting electrical properties that are in general controlled by the properties of the constituent junctions, and can be used to fabricate transparent flexible conductors [2], strain sensors [3] and self-healing materials [4]. Recent work has shown that the sheet resistance of these networks can be significantly reduced by electrical annealing, thermal annealing, or optically induced annealing referred to as “nanowelding” [5].
