Abstract
The impending saturation of Moore’s Law, due to the lack of bandwidth capacity of global metal wires, might be delayed with optical interconnects in a multi-scale architecture combining micro-optical lenses and prisms with a macro-optical curved mirror. Steps taken toward demonstrating multi-scale optical interconnects for intrachip global communications are discussed.
