Abstract
Optical vortices are the natural component of the spatiotemporal laser dynamics/1/. Their interaction leads to formation of spatially periodic structures of electromagnetic field which had been predicted via theoretical analysis/2,3/ and numerical modelling. Such vortex lattices are closely related to vortex lattices in superfluides /4/. Recently the vortex lattices had been realized experimentally in broad area solid-state microchip lasers/5/. The stability and compact design of this devices provide definite advantages compared to VCSEL and CO 2 lasers in responsible applications such as optical computing, atomic clocks etc. For example, recent experiments with optical dipole traps using 2D-optical lattices formed by microlens array /6/ could be performed with array of optical vortices.
