Abstract
We simulate a 2R regenerator composed of gain clamped laser amplifiers (GCLAs) and optical isolators. The operation is based on the interference of coherent optical signals, and the nonlinearity (in terms of electric field) of the GCLAs. Rate equation analysis suggests that frequencies well above 100 GHz could be feasible.
