Abstract
Nanomechanics addresses nm-level material properties, including fracture, mechanical-chemical interactions, and deformation. Nanomechanics applies to optical manufacturing from grinding, to finishing, to polishing, including magnetorheological finishing (MRF), as all these material removal mechanisms essentially break atomic bonds.
