Abstract
Gradient index materials, in which the index of refraction varies as a function of position, are being used commercially in high volume.2,3 Thus, the ability to easily evaluate systems using such materials is becoming more important. Since the ray paths are typically curved trajectories, ray tracing is more complicated than for homogeneous materials.
