Abstract
Optics has been designed for a new type of spectrofluorimeter which is capable of analyzing the fluorescence of a sample as a function of wavelength. The optical layout required to interface the major components within the instrument in order that the radiation is channelled as efficiently as possible through the system is described. These components include a xenon arc light source, a polarization chamber, a pair of monochromators, a sample compartment and a detector assembly.
