Abstract
1. Introduction The motivation of this work is to introduce a suitable analysis for dealing with superconducting optoelectronic devices when the electrical parameters of the devices such as the kinetic inductance can be controlled by the optical ir- radiation. After the discovery of high-Tc superconductors in 1986, a variety of optoelectronic applications have been proposed for these materials. The unique combination of low electrical resistivity and optical absorption in HTS materials opens a possibility for a novel class of ultrafast optoelectronic devices [1]. In this paper, we investigate and model the effect of optical radiation intensity and frequency on the kinetic inductance of HTS films within the BCS framework. This modeling, critical in the development of opticai-HTS devices, is not avail- able widely at present.
