Time-Wavelength Pulse Interleaver on a Silicon Platform

Abstract

An integrated 4-channel time-wavelength pulse interleaver for 1GHz optical pulse trains is implemented on a silicon platform. The interleaver has 0.35% RMS pulse timing error, 1.6-5.8dB insertion loss, less than -24dB crosstalk, and 52nm FSR.
