Abstract
We report on an experiment measuring the energy distribution of laser-excited two-photon photoemission (2PPE) from metal surfaces. Laser radiation is used to populate normally unoccupied states with a first photon and subsequent ionization with a second photon. The energy distribution gives information about the position of intermediate states.
