Abstract
The second order optical nonlinearity is responsible for second harmonic generation (SHG) and refractive index dependence on intensity.[1] The latter is dependent on the non-equillibrium carriers concentration, also. All nonlinearities may be influenced by defects if the symmetry of crystals has been changed or the resonant interaction appears.[2] The dependence of nonlinearities of defects was found in ZnSe with the help of SHG[3] and nonlinear absorption of light.[4,5] The light induced difraction (LID) of light, was found very informative for the investigation of optical nonlinearities,[6] therefore the complex investigation of SHG and LID has been chosen for the investigation of the nature of optical nonlinearities in ZnSe.
