Abstract
The recent interest in transverse effects in nonlinear optics has involved lengthy analyses and computations of partial differential equations. Then, it is often helpful to study physical models under simplifying approximations. Sometimes, for example, elimination of dynamical variables is possible because of well separated time scales. In this presentation we study the elimination of irrelevant variables in the case of laser equations by using a technique based on Centre Manifold (CM) Theory.[1, 2]
