Abstract
Stimulated hyper-Raman scattering (SHRS) has a potential for providing intense coherent radiation at diverse frequencies and is proving to be an excellent method for probing atomic excitation levels. Hence a study of quantum-statistics of SHRS is of great interest. SHRS, being a three wave mixing nonlinear optical process of fifth order, it is of interest to study the process in a multi-level system.[1-3] In the present paper we study the quantum-statistics of SHRS in a system represented by four levels using coupled atom-field density -matrix technique. We have included inhomogeneous broadening, relaxation parameters, higher-order nonlinearities and loss terms.
