Abstract

Optical compression exploiting high order soliton [1] can lead to extremely high compression ratios.[2] It was soon realized[3] that in the femtosecond regime the nonlinear Schrödinger equation failed to account for some experimental results[2] and that the effect of intrapulse Raman scattering (ISRS) should be accounted for.
