Abstract
Bloch oscillations of an electronic wave-packet in a homogeneous electric field have been observed in GaAs/AlGaAs superlattices by four-wave-mixing (FWM) and THz-emission experiments.1 We discuss the dependence of the coherent dynamic of the oscillating wavepacket on the excitation conditions and in detail the existence of higher harmonics in the oscillation. For the case of experimentally inaccessible excitation conditions, i.e., a wavepacket centered in only one well at the beginning, theoretical calculations predicted the existence of Bloch oscillation overtones.2
