Abstract
Superradiance is a phenomenon of spontaneous collective emission of light arising from an ensemble of optically excited systems. Much work has been done to investigate and interpret the properties of superradiance both experimentally and theoretically. Superradiance from gaseous systems of atoms and molecules was studied first, followed by that from doped molecular crystal and -center crystal. Recently, superradiance from systems with restricted geometries, such as molecular clusters, molecular J aggregates, monolayers, semiconductor microcrystallites, and quantum wells, has been studied.1–3 However, superradiance from bulk pure organic crystal has not, to our knowledge, yet been reported. In this paper superradiance of Frenkel excitons in bulk pure organic crystal is reported.
