Abstract
Although the existence of antiphase dynamics in multimode solid-state lasers has been proved using various approximations of the Tang, Statz, and deMars equations [1], one aspect that remains to be assessed is the extent to which the low frequency oscillations of individual modes cancel each other in the total intensity. We performed an experiment that shows that the cancellation is not perfect, in contrast to recently reported results [2].
