Abstract
Recently, there has been an increased interest in the behaviour of autoionising states (AIS) in the laser radiation field as well as their role in the multiphoton processes. This is due to the fact that in the overwhelming majority of experiments on the multiphoton ionisation the AIS are not usually revealed as clear maxima in the wavelength dependencies of the ion yield. The absence of maxima caused by the AIS excitation is explained in literature by a considerable broadening and shift of IAS in the strong laser field. However, the cause of the absence of those maxima in the weak laser fields remains unclarified.
