Abstract
The geonium system1 consists of an electron moving in a uniform magnetic field B (along the positive z axis) and in a static quadrupolar potential. Neglecting the spin-related terms, it is well known that the motion of the electron can be separated into three harmonic oscillators: the magnetron, the axial, and the cyclotron, radiating in the kHz, MHz, and GHz range, respectively.
