Abstract
The recent discovery of gain narrowing and lasing in electroluminescent thin organic films has launched a new field of research aiming toward the organic injection laser.1-3 A key issue for achieving electrically pumped lasing action is the design of suitable resonator geometries that provide optical feedback. We report on the fabrication and the characterization of a large-area, low-cost, flexible conjugated polymer planar distributed feedback (DFB) laser and present a detailed investigation of its underlying photophysics.
