Abstract
Quantum-coherence phenomena are studied for semiconductor quantum-dot structures under transient conditions. Inversionless gain, electromagnetically induced transparency, refractive index enhancement and group-velocity reduction are predicted. Substantial deviations from atomic systems exist because of many-body effects.
