Abstract
We show that the second-harmonic polarization of silicon nanocrystals embedded in SiO2 has a nonlocal dipole form proportional to E⋅∇E that is dramatically enhanced by using two-beam sum-frequency geometry, rather than a single-beam SHG geometry.
