Abstract
The magneto-optical (MO) imaging can visualize the magnetization distribution corresponding to the stray magnetic field originated from defects on a surface of carbon steel. The MO imaging visualizes only the distribution of magnetic field, noise such as dirt on the specimen surface does not appear in the MO image. Therefore, the MO material is one of the attractive filters to remove noise of images. In this study, we had demonstrated the MO imaging using by the optical system with smartphone. As a result, defect on the surface was visualized by the MO imaging, and the noise data could be removed through the MO imaging.
