Tailorability of Power Splitting Ratio in a Cuboidal Silicon-on-Insulator based Power Splitter

Abstract

Power splitter is an important component in optical communication. Many optical devices such as optical multiplexer, switches, modulators and phased arrays utilizes power splitters as an application [1]-[3]. In this paper, a power splitter is designed and it's tailorability for power splitting ratio is discussed. By changing the distance between primary and one of the secondary waveguide, the ratio of power splitting is tailored.
