Abstract
We propose a new method to generate high frequency phase-locked tuneable pulses in the picosecond regime by using multiple Stokes Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) in single mode optical fiber at any wavelength. We demonstrate a system producing ~10 ps pulses at ~22 GHz. The wavelength can be tuned in the erbium band, the pulses width can be easily adjusted and frequency can be precisely tuned by temperature (1 MHz/°C).
