Abstract
A high density optical disk storage concept using microholographic multiplexing method has been reported recently. By using a hybrid diffractive-refractive objective lens with extended depth of focus, we have achieved a reading beam size ~2µm and effective focal length ~1mm. The applied spectral band is 450–650nm and inkjet size is 5–10µm. A detail fabrication and design algorithm is included in this paper. Simultaneous readout of multiple bits in a single storage pit is accomplished with a D/ROE head using a white light source.
