Abstract
Diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) has recently been employed for noninvasive acquisition of blood flow information in deep tissues. In this study, we build a new DCS device based on software correlator and explore the influences of optical intensity and optode’s separation on DCS measurement. Using highly scattering intralipid phantom as analog of biological tissue, we measure the Brownian diffusion coefficient of phantom with varied optical intensity and varied optode’s separation. The optimized optical intensity and optode’s separation are obtained. Utilizing decay of optical intensity versus optode’s separation, we also get the optical properties of a Chinese intralipid phantom. Moreover, our result show the collecting ability of optical intensity of probe is related to type of detecting fiber itself other than the lens coupling on it. In conclusion, we present how the optical intensity and optode’s separation affect the DCS measurement.
