Abstract
We report about theoretical and experimental results on ultrafast optical transmission switching in nanoscaled periodic gold hole arrays. FDTD simulations and fsec laser experiments show an ultrafast spectral transmission beating due to the interference of SPP modes and the laser field. Applications as single-molecule biosensors will be discussed.
