Abstract
FTTP is often considered to be a mature market development, and therefore thought to have little relevance for emerging markets. Things, however, are not as clear-cut and aggressive FTTP deployment in Emerging Asia (China, India, Malaysia...), Middle East and Africa (Saudia Arabia, Algeria...), Latin America (Brazil, Chile...) and Eastern Europe (Hungary, Roumania, Russia...) suggests that there are business models for FTTP in emerging economies, although the market rationale and deployment models might be significantly different from what we see in developed countries.
