Generation and Performance Investigation of Polarization-Alternated QPSK Format

Abstract

A novel binary bit encoder is proposed to generate polarization-alternated (PolAl) QPSK signals, which is experimentally demonstrated having the similar receiver sensitivity and transmission performance as polarization-multiplexed BPSK format.
