Abstract
Broadband operation of a compact gain-switched Ti:sapphire [1] laser with good beam quality is presented that can work as a suitable light source'for coherence.radar measurements [2]. This method, based on white-light interferometry, allows the measurement of the shape and the roughness of optical rough three-cnmensional objects without contact or destruction.
