Abstract
Two-dimensional spatially localized structures are intriguing objects in self-organizing nonlinear systems and provide new insights into the process of pattern formation. Therefore they found considerable attention during the last years also in the context of optics [1, 2, 3, 4, 5], where they are often referred to as spatial solitons (SS).
