Mixed polarization optical rectification in semiconductor waveguides

Abstract

Mixed polarization optical rectification in semiconductor waveguides is investigated theoretically. Beating between the TE and TM optical modes results in an effective modulation of the second order nonlinearity giving rise to narrow-band THz generation.
